First Daughter: White House Rules

The last edits are done, the book is off to press, and the cover is up at Amazon. (You gave us feedback on the artwork, remember?) First Daughter: White House Rules (you also helped pick the title), the sequel to First Daughter: Extreme American Makeover, releases January 24, 2008 from Dutton/Penguin. My son's reaction to the cover girl? "Too skinny." True, but that's one of Sparrow's own pet peeves.

That's funny. They changed the color of the top, and fixed my concern - the cleavage - with airbrushing. The wonders of computers I supppose.

(perhaps you mean Jan 2008.)

im sorry mitali, but for some reason, this doesnt fit with my views on how the covergirl should look. Im not talking about the looks, but the expression, and the pose. Judging from the excerpts, Sparrow is a lot more....snarky,intelligent,thoughtful. The cover doesnt put that across. I know its a bit too late to be offering advice on this..but maybe next time when you do a re-issue or something, you can keep this in mind. I really loved your re-issue cover of the sunita experiment. that was perfect.

Love it! (Definitely prefer this cover over the one with Sparrow in the kurta, which marked the book clearly as "multicultural.")

Can't wait, can't wait to read it.

Anony, thanks for your feedback, I see your point. It's great to have you back on the Fire Escape. Pooja, you're right -- you're so smart!
